Webelos Resident Camp - August 5 through 8, 2009

Our Bears are eligible to attend Webelos Resident Camp (overnight) this year! Click here for detailed information about the camping opportunity. The Webelos I are planning to attend Session 2, August 5-8. The boys will all camp together as a unit.

John Watkins has asked for a volunteer parent from the Bears to work in cooperation with him putting the program together. It will be a good learning opportunity in preparation for next summer as well.

Who would like to step up to assist?

We strongly encourage your Scout to attend Webelos Resident Camp this year. They will have the opportunity to earn 4 Activity Badges and 2 Activity Badge Tracks, which will very much help them on their way with the Webelos requirements. The Pack will cover 50% of the cost for each camper.

Please review this information, and let us know if your Scout will be participating in the overnight camp this year. This is an exciting opportunity, and I believe it’s important that we have as many from our den as possible; therefore they will advance at the same pace. However if your schedule does not allow, your Scout will have the opportunity to attend the following year.

You may respond back, or we can discuss tonight at the pack meeting. See you then!

Garfield Talent Show SURVEY: Is Anyone Interested …
… in performing as a group at Garfield’s annual talent show? (the Scouts, not adults!) A few of the Scouts/parents thought it would be a good idea. Please let us know if you/your Scout have any interest. It would be a GREAT way to show our den spirit – either through song or a corny Cub Scout skit.

Thoughts and ideas are appreciated. If we have enough interest, we’ll need a creative volunteer to help put the show together. Please respond back!
